Have you been wondering what's going on with the cabin at the top of Stevensville Road? After stabilization, in 2017, by Eliot Lothrup (Building Heritage), this historic cabin was taken down in 2020, as the first step towards its restoration. The logs and other structural elements of the cabin have now been restored, repaired, or replaced, using traditional hewing techniques by Miles Jenness (Vermont Heavy Timber). A beautiful, hand built stone foundation, has been completed by Dave Okalita (Camel's Hump Masonry).
In early November, work towards raising the cabin on-site is going to begin. If you are interested in seeing the rebuilding in progress, you are welcome to come and take a look, but please only come after 5pm, and make sure to stay far away from any equipment, and the building itself. I don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Miles Jenness and his crew will be on site in early November to start the rebuild . . .
